3 Favorite Winter Activities to try in MN
Temperatures may have dropped but that doesn’t stop us from getting outside and experiencing winter in all its glory! Here at River Bend’s Resort and Walleye Inn, we do more than just fishing. Our outdoor recreations span more than just catching fish year. Here are our top 3 favorite winter activities to try in Baudette MN.
Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a great winter activity to try and it’s perfect for all ages. Whether you use modern day snowshoes or vintage ones, we’re sure you’ll have a blast exploring the world around you by foot. While the winter months offer hiking, there is something special about snowshoeing. You get to create your own path as you venture out. It’s best to use un-groomed trails as deeper snow is better. The shoes will help pack down the snow while keeping upright. Bring a camera along to document what you see in the winter wonderland of the forest.
Cross-country Skiing
A popular activity in the winter, cross-country skiing is great for those who want to ski but don’t want to go downhill. Groomed trails are the best for this type of sport. There are plenty of groomed trails for you to choose from, around our area. You’ll love gliding through the snow and seeing Northern Minnesota in the wintertime.
Snowmobiling
Snowmobiling in Northern Minnesota allows you to explore lakes, forests, trails, and towns. With lots of area to ride, you’ll love getting out and playing in the snow. Dipping into forests and creeks, this activity is one to try, if you haven’t already! It’s an exhilarating rush to feel the winter air hit your cheeks as you ride the trails. Just make sure you’re bundled up!
It’s important to note that because of the cold temperatures to always have someone join you, or know what trails you’re on and when you should be expected to return.
