In Minnesota, Walleye is one of the top sought after breeds of fish in the fall. They are a
freshwater fish that are gold and olive green in appearance. They have large mouths with sharp teeth and average in length at 16 to 18 inches. Their white fillets are some of the best to eat, which is why they tend to be sought after.
Along with Walleye, Muskies are also highly sought after. At the end of the fall is when the Muskie season is over. So, make sure that you keep an eye out for these large and difficult to catch fish. Muskies are light green, light brown, or silver and usually have dark bars running up and down their bodies. A Muskie will wait in the weed beds and then lunge forward, clamping its large, tooth-lined jaws onto the prey.
